Community advocate, Bob Alviani, speaks against Ventura Measure O. The Ventura City Council has placed revenue measure O on the ballot for the November 8, 2016 general municipal election. If adopted by the voters, the measure would increase the sales tax rate by one-half percent within the city limits.
Alviani discusses why the measure is ill conceived, why the tax shouldn’t span 25 years and why the City Council should not be trusted to spend the money wisely. Alviani also discusses the Citizens’ Oversight Committee’s lack of authority.
